Conference: "Financing of churchies in Europe and in the USA"

The Church Law Society in cooperation with legal section of Czech Christian Academy arranged on 6th of September 1996 on Faculty of Law, Charles University in Prague conference named "Financing of churchies in Europe and in the USA".

Cenference was begun by Doc. JUDr. Jiří R. Tretera, Chairman of the Church Law Society. Guests were greeted by JUDr. Ing. Jiří Zemánek, CSc., deputy dean of Faculty of Law, Charles University responsible for foreign affairs of Faculty.

Particual lectures had:

  • Prof. Dr. jur. Heiner Marré
    professor of State Ecclesiastical Law of Faculty of Law, University of Ruhr in Bochum, honourary professor of State Ecclesiastical Law on Catholic Theological Faculty of Westfall William´s University in Muensteru and former director of legal department of Dioecese Essen.

  • Prof. Harry C. Veryser
    professor of Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration, Michigan
    on theme: Financing of Churches in the USA

  • Prof. Bernard Dafflon

Conference: "State Ecclesiastical Law and concordate law of countries of Middle and East of Europe"

In the days10th and 11th of September 1998 was in the rooms of Faculty of Law, Charles University in Prague the second international conference from cycle of Prague Talks about relation between State and Church. The conference was arranged by The Church Law Society and legal section of Czech Christian Academy in co-operation with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.

Conference was begun by Prof. JUDr. Dušan Hendrych, CSc., dean of Faculty of Law, Charles University, Prague.

    on theme:"Notes to the church law in Republic of Slovakia"

  • Doc. JUDr. Jiří R. Tretera , OP
    Faculty of Law, Charles University, Prague
    on theme: "Position of Churches and religion societies in legal system of the Czech Republic"

7th of September 2000
Third year

The Church Law Society in co-operation with legal section of Czech Christian Academy arranged on 7th of September 2000 international colloquium in the reading-room of library of monastery of Dominicians of St. Jiljí in Prague 1, Husova 8.

From 9.00 AM had his lecture Dr. Karl Eugen Schlief from Münster, former chief of department of law of dioecese Münster on theme Changies in State Ecclesiastical Law in area of former DDR. Lecture was followed by discussion.

After break had his lecture Mark E. Chopko from Washington, D. C., main advisor of Assembly of Bishops of the USA on theme Structures of Church and its financial relation to the state organs in the USA. Followed discussion.

Talking languages were English and German.

During the second day of colloquium (Friday, 8th of September 2001) visited foreign participants main czech academical and church institutions.
